Hockey NWT Fundraising Dinner with special guest Jason Strudwick

Pre-covid the HNWT board would meet in person around the Champions for Children KidSport Fundraiser. Their event is no longer continuing so there is an opportunity for HNWT to fill a void and put on a fundraising event with the proceeds being kept to benefit hockey across the Territory. I'd like to kick 2022 off with a small scale event but also keep with the tradition of bringing the board together around a fun event. Tickets will be going on sale today through eventbrite with a deadline of September 30.

Yellowknife will be hosting an Edmonton Oilers First Shift program this fall with the first Ice time scheduled for October 15. The Oilers Foundation has confirmed this week that Jason Strudmwick will be coming up to support the event. The First Shift Program is an alternative / late start program meant to transition players into the minor hockey system. Inuvik and Hay River have recently hosted First Shift programs - the Sahtu program was postponed to this year due to covid.
