POSTPONED "Play it Forward" Gala

DUE TO THE ONGOING FIRES, the gala is postponed for now.

Hockey NWT's 2nd Annual Fundraising Gala will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Explorer Hotel. The event is sure to be tons of fun and will feature a fantastic buffet dinner, live and silent auctions, fun games, music and a hot stove with celebrity guests. The theme of the event will be "Play it Forward". Funds raised will help us to deliver quality hockey programs across the Northwest Territories. 

We are extremely excited about our 2023 line-up that includes Meghan Agosta (4x Olympian), Tyler McGregor (Olympian, current Captain of Team Canada's Para team), Al Iafrate (Olympian, owns one of the hardest shots in NHL history), Craig MacTavish (Oilers alumni, NHL player & Coach) & Charlie Huddie (Oilers Alumni, NHL Player and Coach).

For the itinerary it will be something like this:
  • 5:00-6:30pm - mixer with main sponsors, the hockey NWT board and special guests
  • 6:30pm - general admission & cocktail hour
  • 7:30pm - buffet dinner 
  • 8:30pm - live auction
  • 9:00pm - hot stove with special guests
  • 9:30pm - music 
  • 12pm - last call
  • 1am -  closing time

Prime Rib Dinner Buffet: 

  • Fresh Garden Salad with Toppings and Assorted Dressings
  • Assorted Breads
  • Homestyle Creamy Potato Salad 
  • Pasta Salad
  • Cajun Salad with Chorizo Sausage and Blackened Chicken Poached Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce
  • Slow Roasted AAA Prime Rib with Horseradish Jus 
  • Herb Roasted Chicken
  • Poached Fillet of Salmon with Tomato Relish 
  • Baked Potato with Sour Cream, Green Onions and Bacon on the Side
  • Seasonal Vegetables
  • Chefs Assorted Cakes and Squares 
  • Fresh Fruit Tray
