Arctic Winter Games trials

MEDICAL

ACCOMMODATION

FOOD

Hay River 
- Meal plan will be available to all participants and chaperons for $100, please bring the amount when you register
- All other meals are a personal expense

Breakfast at 8-10am
Lunch 12-2pm
Dinner 5-7pm (starting Wednesday, December 13, 2023 until Saturday, December 16, 2023)
Snacks will be available all day at the athletes lounge

Here is the MEAL PLAN and hours for all the meals. 

Yelllowknife 
- Healthy snacks will be available at the arena throughout the weekend

TRAVEL

If any questions, concerns on your travel contact Lexie at Sport North at lletzing@sportnorth.com. Travel schedule VERSION 8 has been circulated. Updates will likely come directly from your regional coordinators.

WHAT TO BRING

Hockey gear. Please triple check gear bags to ensure everything is packed and in good condition. Anyone without a neck guard will not be allowed on the ice & double check the expiry date on your helmet.

Sleeping bag, pillow, shower supplies (towel, toiletries, etc.), personal items, clothes, swimsuit, etc.

Spending money.

Participants are encouraged to bring study or reading material. Please adhere to Sport North baggage guidelines.

INSURANCE

All participants must be registered under Hockey Canada.

All Participants from Deline, Aklavik, Paulatuk, Tulita, Tsiighetchic and Tuktoyakuk (if not registered with Inuvik Minor Hockey) please fill out REGISTRATION FORM and email back to Kyle kylek@hockeynorth.ca, and let me know who will be covering the $50 Hockey NWT registration fee.

SCHEDULE

We are at VERSION 4 v3 (updated December 12, 10:42pm) for our draft schedule. Please note that this schedule may change with short notice to balance groups or to ensure player safety. Groups will be assigned at registration.

GAME-PLAY FOR TRIALS

The male U15 and U18 divisions are full contact. All divisions will have 90 minute games that consist of 2x 20min periods, ice resurfacing and another 20min period. All periods will be run time.

TRIALS INFO AND LOGISTICS

Schedule is subject to change - changes will be communicated on our social media and through email. Remember you have all signed a Code of Conduct as part of your registration for Trials - any violations could impact your ability to be selected to Team NT. Please clean up after yourself at the arena and in the change rooms. We are guests in the facility and the arena staff will be working hard to maintain the ice for our trials.

For those that are unaware Hockey Canada launched rule 11.4 - Maltreatment. Please familiarize yourself with the video below and be respectful of your teammates and opponents.

SAFE SPORT TIPS

Safe Sport Tips for ATHLETES and COACHES (chaperones). If you see or hear of any inappropriate behaviour you are encouraged to tell an adult.
